BMW 2500 Radiator Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How do you remove a radiator?
A: To remove the radiator, start by draining the cooling system and removing the lower hose from the radiator. Then, disconnect the upper hose and expansion tank hose from the radiator. If there is a transmission oil cooler, detach the supply and return lines and plug them to prevent leakage or dirt entry. Next, detach the radiator supports on each side and carefully lift out the radiator, ensuring the retainer stays press on the radiator mounting. To refit the radiator, follow the reverse of the removal procedure and refill the system with coolant, making sure to bleed it. For models with a transmission cooler, check and top up the transmission fluid level if necessary.
