How to remove and install the Intercooler in a BMW 328i?

Remove the fan shroud. Raise the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands, then remove the lower splash shield from under the vehicle. Disconnect the left and right pressure hoses from the intercooler. To disconnect the hoses, pry up the wire retaining clip and pull the hose off of the end of the intercooler. Remove the intercooler mounting bolts and lower the intercooler from the bottom of the engine compartment. Installation is the reverse of removal. Be sure to lubricate the O-rings on the hoses, they will not slide onto the intercooler without lubrication.
