    How can the blower be accessed and installed on BMW Z3? Posted by Customer

    To access the blower on E30 models, you will have to remove a cover at the top of the firewall in the engine compartment. For this, remove the negative battery cable and pull off the motor cover from its rubber weather strip by cutting wire ties, removing bolts unscrewing and pulling that cover aside. The retaining straps should then be released so as to take out the blower cover. Disconnect two electrical connectors and unease a clamper that hold it in place. After that, simply lift out motor/fan assembly, being careful not to damage a flap below it. To install it all back, put fan and motor into heater and secure with a clamp. Next you need to connect wires and fix fan cover attaching straps onto it. Install outside cover which was already prepared or bolted in position again tying up with wire fixing fasteners as well as weather-striping. At last, reconnect negative battery cable for both E36 models.Remove electrical duct screws inside air intake cowl plus releasing clips of blower cover.Turn ignition switch off then remove air intake cowl-weather-stripping Gently pry out grille.Remove screws holding electrical duct inside air intake cowl.Remove screws holding right side of air intake cowl plus screw holding left side.Pull cowl up from above For M50 equipped vehicles remove injector plate-cover valve cladding.Disconnect unit plugs of control unit housing; moreover, taking away screws out of injector plug plates also disconnecting control cables internally within manufacturer's housing.Unclip heater blower covers along with disconnection wiring attached to motors.Undo sections' clips found above left flaps before you take them off.To install if they were removed blower fans for replacement must be fitted such that their drive pins are correctly placed into indents given there on color dot matches.Put fan into brace thereby connecting wires thereafter clip blower covers instead.Whereas on m50 equipped vehicles connect control cables insert injector plug plates then connect control unit plugs; finally install control unit housing cover. For injector covers, put valve cover cladding and injectors back in place. And now fasten the air intake cowl using screws, put back electrical duct screws and intake grill, so as to mount weather-stripping.
