First of all, pull the negative cable off the battery and then locate the Best way to do it is too to get the vehicle up on jack stands so that the transmission can be moved far enough out of the car to be removed. unlatch the engine and transmission shields, and the intake air duct covering the radiator, After that, remove the starter motor and driveshaft as well facilitate the whole process if necessary. Remove all electrical connectors and free cables from the casing of the transmission, and then turn the exhaust mounting bracket loose. The front suspension reinforcement plate can be removed by unscrewing the securing bolts. Another way is to support the engine from above with the help of the engine hoist, put in a jack the transmission casing. Take off the crossmember and mounts, and tilt the engine and tranny down as low as possible so that the back of the engine cylinder head was near the firewall but not actually touching it-just be careful not to set anything down on the section of the block where it touches the hoses or the lines. Remove the gear selector arm pivot pin clip by lifting it upwards and then sliding it off the pin so that the arm of the selector can be released. If so necessary, remove the bolt of the engine/transmission adapter plate and the flywheel lower cover plate. Remove the engine to transmission bolts, retrieve the washers and move the transmission backwards until the input shaft is disengaged from the clutch, the weight of the transmission must not rest on the input shaft. Slowly lift and pull the transmission out from under the car being very keen to ensure the engine is supported. For installation, clean clutch parts and ensure that the clutch friction disc has been aligned, grease the clutch release bearing and lever, and in reversing the above process, ensure that the positioning dowels of the transmission are in place, washers have been fitted on the bolts of the engine-transmission interface and all bolts have been tightened with the recommended torque. Oil the pin which has the gear selector arm and connect the driveshaft well to the transmission flange, then put back the starter motor and measure the level of the transmission lubricant.
