    Q:
How to remove the trunk lid and tailgate Lift Support on BMW 328i? Posted by Customer
    A:
To remove the trunk lid, open the luggage compartment and lift up slightly the center pins to eliminate the plastic expansion rivets. Take out the trim panel on the trunk lid by lifting off its centre pins as well as plastic expansion rivets. Disconnect license plate lights wiring connectors and trunk lid lock wire is tied with a cord string at its end. Note how this wiring harness is correctly routed in your vehicle; remove those rubber grommets on your truck lid that hold it in place, then pull it out. When you can see where the wires roared out of the trunk, untie rope and let one end of it remain there. With a marker pen draw around each hinge line. Remove lower screw taking off upper bolt loosing up top hinge take off tailgate from car. Replace them if worn or broken down hinges during examination. Bolts secure these hinges to car bodies. Line up marks made prior cab removal & install helpers should aid whilst fastening boot closed using bolts attached to hinges aligned with holes again after removing pieces opening edition; check alignment between doors closing cover tightly enough around corner in some cases loosen screws until lip rests against fender all sides must be equal approximately- if not repaint hood with right touch-up brush - so corrosion cannot start at edges / paintwork near kinks corrodes way into metal avoiding accidents while driving! Open tailgate door and then strip left sides right before pulling down top cover from rear window backside too added bonus: unhooking washer hose alongside electrical connector(s) for rear lights especially if they are not working properly due an intermittent fault such as short circuit caused by water dripping into wires which might get wet because there's hole through which fluid can flow; disconnecting Lift Support supporting hatch helps preserve high quality finish within limits imposed upon entire system generally speaking every vehicle manufacturer designs body panels differently depending some extent upon these factors mentioned above therefore it would be quite difficult finding exact replacement part whenever needed since everything unique per make plus model for instance even though many parts like doors, hoods , trunk lids etc may look similar from one manufacturer's paint shop another; however there are several variations between them including size, shape and style - hence why you should always consult your owner's manual before purchasing any replacement items those who decide order new components online instead of walking down street searching garage store often confronted with multiple versions differing greatly based dimensions alone which means they'll never fit properly unless correctly molded beside being damaged during delivery due insufficient packaging materials used preventing damage caused transportation procedures besides after-sales services provided at each location just like in this case where removing all bolts means putting it together again as way forward is same since retainer clips retain securely ensuring installation reverse removal their clips stop coming off.

    Q:
How do you safely remove and install a tailgate support strut on BMW 335i? Posted by Customer
    A:
Completely open the tailgate and place it on a proper jack that will give it a good number of holding points. Take a retaining clip off the upper end of the pressurized Tailgate Lift Support. Be careful, since it is possible to cause damage to the body and it is extremely heavy, with the gate automatically closing if both pressurized supports are not in place; provide support for the gate before removing a strut. Remove the tailgate to remove the Tailgate Lift Support by pulling it off then remove the retaining clip from the lower end of the Tailgate Lift Support and take out the Tailgate Lift Support. Removal is the contrary of installation and should replace all the clips that were removed during the exercise.
