    Q:
How do I remove and install the A/C Switch,Blower Motor and Heater Core? Posted by Customer
    A:
To disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery, open the utility compartment door below the A/C Switch and push up in the center of the door to release the locking tabs. Remove the utility compartment from the dash and pry the shift lever bezel from the center console. Remove the shift knob or lever and unclip the boot from around the shift panel. Remove the mounting screws from the rear of the shift panel and lift the trim to unhook the assembly from the front of the console. Remove the mounting screws from the front and rear of the ashtray assembly and remove it from the console. Reach in from the opening and push the control panel out of the dash. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the back of the A/C Switch and use an anti-static pad to disconnect the A/C Switch from the control panel. For Z4 models, remove the radio and use a panel removal tool to pry the trim panel below the control panel assembly out of the dash. Disconnect the electrical connectors from behind the control panel. Position a protective cover below the control panel and press the controls on the panel into the dash, moving the control panel assembly away from the dash and lowering it out the bottom through the opening. For the heater core, have the air conditioning system refrigerant discharged and drain the engine coolant. Remove the in-cabin air filter and release the wire harness holder locking tabs. Remove the screws and separate the ducting from the cowl. Remove the center console and instrument panel. Disconnect the heater hoses at the firewall and remove the right side air duct from the IHKA housing. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the housing and remove the heater core temperature sensor. Remove the retaining clips from the heater core housing cover and remove the cover. Remove the screw securing the coolant pipes and disconnect the pipes at the heater core. Unbolt any brackets securing the heater box and disconnect any wiring connectors. For the heater blower motor, have the air conditioning system refrigerant discharged. Remove the in-cabin air filter and release the wire harness holder locking tabs. Remove the lower housing screws and separate the housing from the cowl. Remove the engine compartment side trim panel and the heater firewall cover. Remove the engine cover and peel away the rubber sealing strip from the housing opening. Pull up the right-hand flap spindle lever and remove the flap. Remove the screw, release the retaining clips, and remove the heater motor front cover. Remove the screws and remove the right-hand cover from the motor.
