For the M20 engine, remove the oil pan and oil pump, then inspect and replace the driveshaft bearing before installing the gear and cover. For the M42 and M44 engines, drain the oil, and remove the timing case cover and oil pump. Clean the mounting surfaces, replace the gasket, and install the timing case.
