If the checks reveal a faulty hose, it must be replaced as follows. First drain the cooling system. If the coolant is not due for replacement, it may be re-used if it is collected in a clean container. To disconnect a hose union from a fitting (such as at the radiator), pry up the wire retaining clip and pull the hose union from its fitting. Some hoses are secured to their unions using traditional hose clamps. To disconnect these type hoses, loosen the clamps, then move them along the hose, clear of the relevant inlet/outlet union. Carefully work the hose free. While the hoses can be removed with relative ease when new, or when hot, do not attempt to disconnect any part of the system while it is still hot. Note that the radiator inlet and outlet are fragile; do not use excessive force when attempting to remove the hoses. If a hose proves to be difficult to remove, try to release it by rotating the hose ends before attempting to free it.
