To remove and install the heater control valve on E30 models, you need to start by disconnecting the negative battery terminal and removing the center console and instrument panel trim. Then, drain the coolant and disconnect the coolant hoses and wire from the control valve. Loosen the coolant pipe clamp and remove the bolts from the pipe and heater connections. Replace the O-rings at the connections and reassemble the valve and pipe. Connect the coolant hose at the firewall and reinstall the console and trim. Finally, fill and bleed the cooling system and reconnect the negative battery terminal.
