    How to remove and replace door window glass and regulators on BMW 328i? Posted by Customer

    To remove the front door window, open the window and raise it up about 4.5 inches for E-chassis cars and 5.7 inches for F-series chassis cars. Disconnect battery negative cable; then remove the inner trim panel and watershield. Use a flat-bladed tool to pry out the window inner sealing strip and take away the window catches. Slide this upwards then lift its back off initially when removing from vehicle. To remove front door window regulator: unfasten door window from catches and secure in full Up position disconnect window motor electrical connector remove regulator mounting nuts if applicable- separate motor from regulator maneuver regulator out of mid-door. To remove rear door windows, lower windows completely taking off inside trim panel followed by watershield. Carefully pry up on the window's inner sealing strip. Removing rubber weatherstrip and plastic window frame trim. Remove sealing strip of glass by peeling it back. Lift bolts attaching panel to door. Lowering by four and three quarters inches after fully closing. Disconnect negative battery cable. Pushing catch outward on lower side of glass move upwardly. Remove rear part before others. For rear door/rear side fixed windows, have your dealer replace or consult an automotive glazier. To remove the rear door window regulator: Release the door holding onto clamp catches slide it upward then hold firm through adhesive tape. Disconnecting power source from motor (if fitted) take off nuts that fasten frame in place. Removing the bottom part, flip assembly out. Installation is simply going backward for both items starting with taking out screws or bolts. Replace any damaged window latch plus return switch to work until auto-stop function becomes normal.
