How do you remove and install a shifter cable on BMW Z3?

Remove the center console first. Then, disconnect the cable from the shifter and the bracket. Following this, disconnect the cable from the transmission arm and bracket. After these steps, pull the cable out from inside the vehicle. Finally, install the cable and adjust.
