  Q: How do I remove the oil pan in 3.0L six cylinder engine on BMW 325i?

  A: To detach the oil pan, start by detaching the strut support and cabin air filter cover. Disconnect mass airflow sensor wiring plug as well as air intake hose. Air filter housing and ignition coils cover should be retained. Cowl housing should be removed by removing mounting bolts. Use an engine hoist or support fixture to prop up the engine and slightly lift it. Loosen nut that secures engine mount support brackets and lift engine further for removal of oil pan. Underbody paneling must be removed together with reinforcement brace under front subframe. Disconnect steering column lower universal joint pinch-bolt then raise the column shaft up.
